Donald L. Foster

Former President of US Steel International

Donald L. Foster is a globally recognized metals executive with more than 40 years’ experience in manufacturing and financed supply chain management. An expert in building shareholder value, he previously served as an officer of both United States Steel Corporation, a Fortune 500 company, and the L.B. Foster Company, a NASDAQ listed firm. Foster is a board-certified Governance Fellow and a member of the Private Directors Association.

As President of United States Steel International, Foster managed $1.2 billion in international revenue, conducting business in 40 countries. He formed and built a three-location joint venture in Mexico named Acero Prime which lead to the companies #1 market share position in the automotive and appliance markets. Foster also held the positions of President of United Engineers and Consultants and Chairman of Met-Chem Mining.

Following his successful career at U.S. Steel, Foster became President of Metalsbridge LLC. where he assisted in developing the firms financed supply chain logistics model.

Foster was then named Officer and Senior Vice President of Construction for L.B. Foster Company, a global company specializing in the rail, energy, and construction markets. During his decade-long tenure, Foster spearheaded the company’s growth and service programs, including its most profitable acquisition. The company completed numerous high-profile projects under his leadership, including re-decking the Manhattan Bridge and rebuilding New Orleans with the Army Corp of Engineers post Hurricane Katrina. The last project under his tenure, was the successful completion of the front end of the new Panama Canal, on time and on budget.

Foster’s continued dedication to the industry and his community is seen through his participation on several boards, including: Alumnabridge, a unit of Florida Gulf Shore Capital and Southern Pines Trucking, a specialty metals and cryogenics transportation firm. He also served a stint as President of the Japan-American Society of Pennsylvania (JASP). Don’s passion for the homeless has led him to serve as Chairman of the Light of Life Mission, a rescue mission providing food, shelter and life skills to men, women, and children.
